Matthew Herbert presents remixes by Floating Points, Seven Davis Jr and Herbert himself as part of a special 12" vinyl RSD 2023 release. The remixes are of tracks from 2021's full length album Musca, an instinctive return to the ‘domestic house’ series that started back in 1998 with Around The House and the 2001's Bodily Functions.

After last year’s full-length Musca, Herbert presents an extensive collection of remixes by Floating Points, Seven Davis Jr., Moiré and Mr. Mitch which build on the album’s instinctive return to the ‘domestic house’ theme started back in 1998 with Around The House.

The package opens with an epic 15-minute micro house version of ‘Fantasy’ by Floating Points before Seven Davis Jr. offers a smouldering re-rub of ‘Might As Well Be Magical’. Mr. Mitch’s take on ‘Two Doors’ is a synth-rich exercise in uptempo, maximalist club music, whereas Moiré opts for a knottier treatment of ‘Gold Dust’. Herbert bookends the release with his own choppy ‘Greenery Dub’ of ‘Fantasy’, working Verushka’s vocal in a manner which echoes the style he pioneered while breaking new ground in house music in the mid-90s.
